overwhelmedWhenever we start to do something it might be a determination from our side to go until the end of that thing, without even having a second thought about whether we should do it or not, whether it is worth doing it or not. We get overwhelmed by a lot of tasks that we are assigned to do at our job, or get very narrow focused at something that keeps other important areas of our lives out of our attention. Here we can mention time with our family members, time with our friends, time to work out, time to read and other things that you consider important, simply because we are too busy and think that do not have enough time.

If we do not have more consideration about other important areas of our lives now, chances are that we might do the same thing in the future too. We keep postponing our responsibility of being a better family member by staying in touch with our family members and getting informed about their recent experiences and situations. We keep postponing that we should start that project that seems too good to be true. We keep delaying writing a letter to a friend that we have not heard about for a few months. These and other things are getting away from our attention, from our agenda simply because we think that there will be a better time when we will be more careful of setting priorities accordingly so that we are able to maintain a well-balanced life. Yet that day never seems to come.

Now we can raise a question: Is it worth doing your job, getting so overwhelmed with so much responsibilities and abandon other things that are also important and valuable to you?

Maybe you can change your job, or change your schedule so that you engage less in gossip and more in live conversations and healthy interactions with your friends. It is better to minimize your time watching TV and invest that time staying with your family. It is better sleep earlier and wake up earlier, so that you can work out before going to work and not lying yourself that you are going to work out when you get back home, which never happens. It is better for you to read a book while sitting in the bus in your way to work instead of aimlessly staring outside. A busy person that I know read 20-30 books only while travelling to work or during his way home for a few months.

Is it worth abandoning all the other things that are waiting for you simply because of this? If the answer is no, then try to reprioritize the things that you value the most.
