I recently had the privilege to publish my first guest post in SimpleProgrammer.com, which is a very good website filled with so many tips and suggestions for software developers. I wrote the article about some soft skills, a topic that I believe is underestimated, and wanted to remind myself and fellow software developers about their importance.

You can briefly see the main headlines down below, and if you want to read the whole article, head here.

  1. Be very kind
  1. Always be genuinely interested in your colleagues
  1. Smile often
  1. Say ‘thank you’ and ‘please’ a lot.
  1. Praise other people’s efforts and stay positive
  1. Do not hesitate to apologize
  1. Do not criticize
  1. Avoid arguments
  1. Ask questions instead of giving direct orders
  1. Avoid dealing with ‘toxic’ people

If you liked these tips and want to read and learn more about each one of them, then go and read the whole article.

Writing this article took me a long time, but it is worth the time I spent. I learned a lot of new things, and was impressed by the editorial team that is behind SimpleProgrammer, and their systematic approach of editing new articles.

I am pleased to announce that I am currently in the process of writing a new article which is already approved to be published in SimpleProgrammer.com. I am thinking and planning to continue with other articles as well in the future.
